Why Do Universities Give Scholarships? The Real Reasons Explained

Ask a student the reason why universities give out scholarships and the first thing you'll hear will often be something like "because they're kind-hearted" or "to help individuals who simply can't afford it. " The truth is, that's really only a fragment of the whole thing. Colleges and universities are organizations with a certain amount of money they get to spend, reputations they stand to lose if challenged, and an actual desire not only to bring in potential students but to get them to apply and then to be accepted. All of these things they do at once very effectively through scholarships.
